June 6, 2008

Thursday I commandered the help of Pastor Shaban and we finished off the roof of the chicken shed today.  We now only have to put a door on and it is finished.  We are waiting for the mud to dry properly, as it is too cold with the walls being wet to put young chickens in there.  The problem is that it has not stopped raining, even though now it is meant to be the dry season.

In the afternoon I went down to meet with Peace to go through some things on the computer to get her ready to take over the handling of the books.

Kathryn had a day at home doing various things including supervising Damon whilst he did his Maths exam and other school work.

Friday morning after dropping Kathryn off I went to the drop-in for the morning, and gave Eddie the money that was sent by Peter McClenaghan’s Year 7 Class at Northside.  He was not sure who they were sending yet, it was to be one of two, but I think they will go away and discuss it.  In the afternoon we went with Pamellah and Gilbert and bought some new clothes for him from Manjari Markets.  It was a rainy day, so it was definitely different going clothes shopping while trying to stay upright with the mud under foot, and dry under leaking tarps and plastic sheets.  It was worth it though to see Gilly sitting on the bed with a new pile of clothes, a new pair of shoes and a great big smile.
