Saturday 3rd & Sunday 4th November 2007

November 4, 2007

Saturday started differently for little Australia as when I went down to pick up Fred for his lesson he was not able to come, so there was no noise this morning.   The girls went to lunch with Annie, Pastor Jackson’s wife, and us boys had cabbage, something’s wrong with this picture here I think!!  I had my usual drum lesson with Sam and then we headed down to Akanyijuka to have Saturday School with the kids.  It was good to see them, I had only seen them once all week prior and that was when I was dropping Kathryn off on Wednesday.

The highlight of the day was as per the rest of the week, we had no power from 7 am.  It did however come back on at 8 pm if you are still interested in doing what you wanted to do earlier.

Sunday was a good day, we had a good service at church with Pastor Edward preaching and Phil did a batch of baking before going to Jinja. Here’s a photo of his work:

The only problem is that a quarter of them were gone before he left and another quarter went with him.  In the evening we sat down and made a final decision on who the next intake of children will be.  It is hard to pick which children to take now as the positions left to take children are getting less and less.  After this intake we only have room for 8 more children and can only take more in if we get more property somehow, either land to build or another rental property.  On top of that it is very hard to pick because when you see the situation and the need of some that do not fit perfectly into our set guidelines it is hard to say no.  We have been responsible for most of the decisions so far but this time Edward felt strongly about a case we said no to, so to show that we respect him and the fact that we are a partnership we allowed it.  It is not that we were against the case, just we were not entirely convinced for some reason and most people said that they were happy to accept the case if others felt for it anyway.

Anyway here is some photos of the next intake:
