July 9, 2007

We started early today, moving all our things from the Ward’s place to ours.  We were all finished by 10 am, then there was just the task of finishing cleaning and unpacking, so we should be settled fairly well in a few days.    The fog here is all around in the early mornings, Phil and I took the first load at 7:30 am and we had to drive very slowly as it was so thick.  By around 9 am the fog had pretty much cleared.

I had a challenging, but successful day with Edward also.  We met Pastor Rock, the pastor who had been looking after Moses to take Moses into Akanyijuka.  At first it all seemed to go smoothly and we ended up being able to take Moses, and agreed to reimburse Pastor Rock for some outstanding medical bills and travel expenses when we got some money.  After which we parted ways, but within half an hour he had called and wanted to meet again.  To cut a long story short we sat discussing (with a few tempers getting raised here and there) about what had happened and if Pastor Rock should not take him back with him.  In the end we agreed that Moses will stay with us and that Pastor Rock would go with all the money at once, which we had to run around to get.  So Moses is safely in Akanyijuka now, even if we did not have time to prepare for him.  It will be good to go and see him tomorrow.  Moses is in good health and seemed to be in high spirits when I saw him.  Here is a photo of Moses:

Here is a photo I took from the side porch of our house looking over Kabale and the hills in the background.   The location is not as ideal as the Wards as we get to hear all the traffic (the buses are the worst, blasting to get more passengers) but it is not over bearing.
