Today Phil and I ventured out on our own to get a typo fixed on the insurance forms and went to meet Ben at Yuasa to pick up our car. We got there 1 ½ hours early to put a bit more pressure on them as Ben had to go back to Kabale today and we did not want to travel by ourselves leaving Kampala so late in the day. To my great surprise everything was sorted and we were able to leave just after 2 pm. Which was good, we packed our stuff, payed for accommodation and headed for Kabale, leaving Kampala at around 3pm.
The car traveled really well, but we will get a service soon after getting to Kabale as when we checked the oil it was black as black. The pot holes also rattled loose something underneath, which we will look into. Coming from Japan and driving on Ugandan pot holes for the first time must have been a good shaking up for the van. We arrived at Ben’s place around 9:45 that night and talked for a bit over drinks before getting the best nights sleep so far in Uganda!
