Today we set out to go for the car. We looked around at a few insurance companies to get comprehensive car insurance before we picked up the car. Phil and I ended up negotiating a good price with one particular company – the locals we were with said that we had gotten a good price, so we were happy with that. We met up with Pastor Frank and took him out for lunch. I think he will get on well with us, I really like him.
After this we had some time to spare so we went and visited a shopping centre that was on the way to the car yard. There was one shop there which reminded me of Target or K-Mart back home. It was good to see, there is most things that we have at home available if wanted. After this we went to pick up the car. This is when our day took a detour in the unpleasant direction. We arrived at 5 pm as we had agreed, hoping that a list of things agreed upon would have been done to the car. I was half expecting that we would not get the car today, but thought that it would have at least been moved from the spot it was in, but allas not. We had a rather frustrating conversation with them. They said they had tried to find a replacement for the broken part of the dash board, but I have my suspicions but the other things we had agreed on had not been done. We ended up arranging that we come back tomorrow at 2 pm to pick up the car and everything would be done as arranged. We also arranged that we hold back full payment of the car until the dash board is fixed, which we can hopefully get done in a months time when we visit Kampala again to pick up Quinton, Erica and Amelia.
